Wheatley Provincial Park

About an hour drive from downtown Windsor is Wheatley Provincial Park. Entrance to Wheatley Provincial Park is about $20.00 per car and is well worth the price as it makes for a fun weekend destination. Wheatley Provincial Park offers beautiful beaches as well as an awesome camp ground with good rates! The beaches here are different from other beaches in the area as there is a Cliffside that drops down to the beach. Sand Point Beach is definitely the most conveniently located beach in the Windsor Essex County area. Residing along Riverside Drive in East Windsor Sand Point Beach makes for a great family outing day. Parking is conveniently right across the street from Sand Point Beach on Riverside Drive. You don’t just have to swim and lay on the beach at Sand Point Beach. During the summer season you can rent a kayak for the day from Windsor Adventure Inc located just on the eastern end of the beach while you’re there.

West Belle River Beach

Located in Belle River West Belle River Beach is surrounded by amenities. West Belle River Beach has a reputation for being the go to spot for jet skiers and wind surfers. Located on the western side of the marina the West Belle River Beach boasts a splash pad as well as public washrooms and tons of free parking, something you won’t find at other beaches in the area.

Point Pelee National Park

Located in Leamington Ontario, Point Pelee National Park is the southernmost point in Canada. Currents are reported to get strong here in bad weather so it is recommended to go on a day with nice calm weather.
